r a d i o q u a l i a (r Q ) is an online art group developed by Honor Harger and Adam Hyde, established in Australia in 1998, and now based in Europe. Using various media, r a d i o q u a l i a experiments with the concept of broadcasting, using the internet and traditional media forms, such as radio and television as primary tools. r a d i o q u a l i a work in internet, gallery, performance, broadcast and publishing contexts.

r a d i o q u a l i a have developed our own software and hardware tools to facilitate streaming media projects. Key amongst these tools is “The Frequency Clock” , a multi-platform system which enables users of the internet to timetable webcasting content for broadcast on the internet, on FM radio, and on broadcast television.

r a d i o q u a l i a have created many exhibitions, including shows at Sonar 2001 in Barcelona,
Spain; VideoPositive2000 in Liverpool, UK; Infowar - Ars Electronica 98, LifeScience - Ars Electronica 99 and Takeover – Ars Electronica 01, in Linz, Austria; the Bregenz Festival in Austria; HDLU in Zagreb, Croatia, and the Experimental Art and CACSA in Adelaide, Australia. We have also contributed to numerous conferences, symposia and publications. In 2000 r a d i o q u a l i a produced net.congestion - the International Festival of
Streaming Media, held in Amsterdam .
