The "Recycling the Future" newsgroup is intended as a platform for
discussion about the implosion of cultural time in post-utopian
mediaspace. The newsgroup, beginning during the residency of
Kunstradio-Radiokunst - the Austrian radio program for radio art -
http://thing.at/orfunstradio/ at Hybrid Workspace/documentaX July
18-28, will remain active during the entire period of the "Recycling
the Future" project http://thing.at/orfkunstradio/FUTURE/ which ends
in December 1997.

The on-going "Recycling the Future" newsgroup will be a part of the
Kunstradio participation in the Ars Electronica Festival
http://www.aec.at/ in September, during LADA'97
http://www.giardini.sm/LADA97/ Rimini in November and at the
"Recycling the Future" symposium in Vienna December 4-7 1997.

The newsgroup will provide an important source of material for
discussion at the symposium in December - and for the planned
Recycling the Future/Kunstradio publication 1998.
