************************ THE REMOTE VOLUNTEER ************************

[vide the following article in this newsgroup: "As the Recycling the
Future team descends on the Hybrid WorkSpace..." by Tom Sherman,
http://www.icf.de/hws-bin/discuss/read?grp=workspace.recycling_the_fut
ure&msg=61&rest=61:]

There is a remote volunteer on the coast of Canada actually trying to
work in this Hybrid Workspace.
I wish there were more of them around the fringes or edges or whatever
one calls these remote locations ...
He is really trying so hard to make himself useful in all kind of ways
even thinking about that 'corporate feeling' and about 'sharing the
goals of the mission'.
And he is not only envisaging a mission, he is actually thinking of
and waiting for his 'marching orders'. And dreaming about 'belonging
to an organization' ...
It is so moving -- and so endearing!!

I do not like his music so much and especially not his big black shiny
spiders - at least I wish he would not mention them ...
But somehow even the playing of his music - so loud that 'the putty is
falling out of his window' - does this not tell you something - I
mean: he even admits that he is lonely - I think he is crying out with
the help of the Sluts, he is crying out as loud as he can with his
CD-player - I feel so sorry for him!!
Isn't it heartbreaking: this poor guy in a cellar in Nova Scotia
volunteering for this Hybrid Workspace believing that - if they just
found the time [http://www.icf.de/hws-bin/uinfo?user=geert] - there
would be somebody who would listen to him - pay attention to him
(sitting out there hoping for his 'marching orders' ...) Oh, it is so
sweet!!

I would honestly send him one, if I just knew how: a marching order
from his cellar out into the sunset of the Hybrid Workspace. What a
wonderful image!
But ... Maybe the AVATAR performance recipes
[http://www.qbc.clic.net/~avatar/recettes/presentation.html] could
help. He could get busy doing Do it Yourself Performances out there
and he could send all kind of reports out (or in?) - not that that
would prompt any e-mails or faxes or phone-calls, but maybe at least
he could get some little tele-empathy from one of the other Do it
Yourself Performers (if there are any ...).

Actually his little outcries like the one right in the beginning of
his last message (remember the heartbreaking 'God, it's so lonely over
here') almost lured me into trying some telepathy myself or even a
little e-mail saying something like 'hi from over here, you are not
the only one feeling lonely out there' or something like that - but
than I remembered his spiders.
And they really did put me off! So I started to play one of my own CDs
and I played it really, really loud ...
